Perthshire Library
We were asked by Interior Designer Jill Macnair to create the bespoke kitchen and interior joinery for a new-build holiday home in the spectacular setting of the Scottish Highlands. Sitting within a simple, textured material palette of terrazzo, concrete and encaustic tiles, the Douglas Fir joinery adds a warm touch to a structured design.
Tracing the line of clerestory windows, the joinery divides the ground floor, revealing an open-plan kitchen, dining area and sunken living room, with vistas across a loch. A single log of quarter-cut Douglas Fir veneer was hand-selected with the client and laid in-sequence along along the full unbroken length of library wall and kitchen.
Highland House was featured in a This Modern House film and was a cover feature in ELLE Decoration.
